About ContractorVetted
ContractorVetted is a free public records interface. Our mission is to bring contractor license data from every state licensing board into one searchable place — for free, with no conflicts of interest. California is live now, with more states being added.
Why we built this
Contractor fraud costs Americans $9.3 billion annually. Licensing data, disciplinary actions, and complaint history are all legally public — they're just spread across 50 different government portals with inconsistent UX. We built the interface that should have existed already.
How the data works
Every contractor record on this site is sourced directly from an official state licensing board. Each data point shows its source (e.g., CSLB for California, TDLR for Texas) and the exact date it was last verified. License status is checked live when you view a profile.
What we are not
- Not a lead marketplace. We do not charge contractors to appear in results.
- Not a review site. We show official public records, not user opinions.
- Not a consumer reporting agency. See our Terms of Service for the full FCRA notice.
Data sources

Is my data incorrect?
We display what state licensing boards report. If your record is incorrect, the dispute must be filed with the relevant state board — we cannot alter official public records. See ourdispute guide for state-by-state instructions.
